Bondo Gold Mine Survivor Reveals How His Advice to His Boss Could Have Saved Them From The Accident

A survivor of the Bondo accident where some miners were 'buried' inside a gold mine has narrated how he warned his fellow workers on the impending danger inside the mine. He had also warned his employer about the risk of going inside the mine at that specific time but they could not hear any of his excuses.[Photo Courtesy]

They termed him as a coward who does not want to work. They even dared him to go home if he feels like he is not ready to work. He however gave in to their demands and joined them at the mine not knowing that things will turn out to be messy.

He had just worked at the mine for only three months and now he is suffering from the injuries he got from the accident. He was among those who were rescued today with another survivor identified as Michael Onyango .

The two are currently receiving treatment as the exercise of retrieving other miners buried inside the gold mine is ongoing. The family of those who have not been retrieved have lamented how the whole exercise is done very slowly. Therefore, they have urged those who are responsible for retrieving the bodies to act swiftly.
