Controversial former Kamukunji and Pangani OCS Chief Inspector Samir Yunis was arrested on allegations of using his position to rape his female junior colleagues. These are some of the cases that have been reported to the authorities as many people use their positions to assault their juniors. Sometimes, the victims don't come out to speak because they are afraid of losing their jobs.
As People Daily reports, so many ladies had written letters complaining about the issue. That if one rejects his advances, he would used his authority to transfer them to other places without the right procedure or even frustrate them in office. The officer was arrested by detectives from Internal Affairs Unit (IAU)after he honoured one of the many summons that were sent to him.
Samir is expected to be charged on Wednesday 7th December with the offense of abuse of position of authority contrary to section 24(2)(a) of s3xual offences act, 2006.
