Rachel Ruto's Imposter Defrauding Women Group With Fake Promises

In Murang'a Group of individuals who impersonated Rachel Ruto are on a manhunt by the police after defrauding women .

The group was being run by three men and one woman who have been asking villagers of Sh. 630 for registration fee. They were promised Sh. 10,000 each for Christmas gifts from Rachel Ruto that was to be delivered on 24th December (Christmas eve). Promised good included; bundles of wheat and maize flour, cooking oil, rice, and soft drinks.

Various women group from the region lobby its members to contribute towards the initiative.

One group revealed that they had already contributed close to sh. 108,000 as registration fee. The group were convinced that the business was genuine owing to DP Ruto's regular visit to the region.

An alarmed was raised when some if the women claimed that they heard the warning from the local radio station.

Emmanuel Talam who is Ruto's communication chief dismissed the existence of such program saying that women should report the incident to law enforcement officers.
