Dickson Macharia Waithera, the leader of the dreaded confirm gang which operates in various parts of Nakuru county has been arrested in Nakuru.
The confirm gang has been for a number of times accused of being involved in multiple murders especially of women. The gang members allegedly act as workers of a water company or electricity company so as to gain access into homes before commiting the gruesome murders and later torching the body to conceal evidence.
Several members of the gang have so far been arrested in the last two months.
The arrest of their leader comes just a month after Interior CS Dr Fred Matiangi promoted the no-nonsense Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanzo to be the new Nakuru County Police Commander.
Mwanzo took over from Beatrice Kiraguri who had barely served for a year since her deployment.
CS Matiangi also ordered police to carry out patrols around Nakuru city at night.
