A man masquerading as a Safaricom engineer on a maintenance mission, was yesterday arrested for vandalizing telecommunication equipment worth 2 million and the equipment confiscated.
Before long, the watchman became afraid of Leny's activities and notified the police officers who promptly swang into action.
The accused after getting the wind of the officers got into his waiting gateway car and speed off, prompting a hot chase never seen by Murang’a residents lately.
Just some distance after Saba Saba, the determined police vehicle blocked the suspect, prompting him to give up and surrender to the cops.
Further inspection in the Lenny's car made the police to recover the telecommunication equipment, said to have been vandalized somewhere.
The suspect’s gateway means was also seized and he will placed in court today to face various charges for vandalism of telecommunications equipment.
