Mwingi East sub-county police commander Joseph Yakan has confirmed a bus belonging to St Joseph Seminary in Mwingi had a accident today. The bus which was carrying 30 passengers submerged into the flooded river at around 11am.
Yakan said the victims who were mainly Mwingi Catholic Church choir members were heading to a wedding in to Nuu area before the tragic incident occurred.
He added that, the rescue operations are underway with local residents managing to rescue 10 passengers from the violet river Enzu.

Details have emerged on what really happened just before the incident occurred as the church members were seen dancing and celebrating.
In a video clip that is circulating around on social media, the choir members were wearing green gowns in readiness for the wedding.
It was a sad incident that, has led to Kitui governor charity Ngilu to visit to the scene where the rescue operations are underway.
