
Several people are feared injured after a bus owned by guardian bus services plunged into River Nyokomisaro river at Nyambera junction in central Kisii.
According to a report by NTV Kenya, the accident involved the bus which was travelling from Nairobi to Sori in Migori county. The guardian bus services company revealed that one of the bus tyres was hit by a canter lorry carrying potatoes and cereals. After that hit, the bus plunged into the river.
The bus was carrying 21 passengers while the canter had two at the time of the sad incident.
So far, 4 people are receiving emergency treatment at Kisii county refferal hospital. The patients suffered to the abdomen, thighs and hands.
A similar accident occured on the same spot in 2016 when a Nyamira Express Bus collided with a Toyota Fielder.
Rescue operations are still going on. We wish those receiving treatment a quick recovery.
