Less than two months after the Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati losing his mother, Mama Selina Nasike Wangamati, death has once again struck in Bungoma county and this time claimed the life of the Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula's mother.
In the evening of yesterday on April 4th, news broke out that Mama Faustina Nekunda who was the mother to the current Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula had passed away.
In the aftermath of her demise, Governor Wangamati who has been having some political differences with the Senator put aside their differences to condole with the larger Wetang'ula family.
Taking to Facebook through the 'Governor's Press' today at 11AM, Governor Wangamati passed his heartfelt condolence message to the Wetang'ula family saying that "I have learned of the passing on of Mama Faustina Nekunda Wetang'ula with a lot of regret.
The Wetang'ula family, the people of Mukhweya and Kabuchai Constituency have lost an industrious icon who shaped many lives as a teacher and a pious member of the Catholic Church."
Like in the tributes he received after losing his mother, the Governor added that "the loss of a mother of her stature in any society is immeasurable. My thoughts and prayers are with Mzee Dominic for the loss of his dear wife, Hon Senator Moses Wetang'ula, Hon. Tim Wanyonyi and the larger Wetang'ula family for the loss of their mother."
He finished by saying that "may the Lord strengthen and comfort you during this period. Do receive my condolences and those of my family."
