Thika road is one of the busy highways in Nairobi County. It is used by several vehicles including trucks ferrying goods to the city and matatus used by passengers. This leads to heavy traffic congestion especially during rush hours. Issue of mugging executed by gangs in the city has led to rise in crime rate.

Today, an alleged phone snatchers was left with serious injuries along Thika Road at Githurai 45 after attempting to steal a phone from a passenger. According to a post shared by Ma3Route channel on twitter, the well-wishers however rushed him to St John Hospital for first aid after he broke his right leg and rough bruises on the face.
