Today Newly sworn in Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire led a team of leaders from the county in a clean- up exercise at Embu Town.
Governor Cecily Mbarire said that waste management has been poor over the years and there is a need to have a long lasting solution to the menace.
" Embu county waste management has been poor over the years, with a lot of uncollected heaps of garbage all over CBD and around estates. There is a need to have a long lasting solution to the menace" wrote governor Mbarire on her official Facebook page.
Today clean up exercise began at Embu Town. The exercise will be carried out in all parts of Embu county as the set taskforce evaluates best ways to keep the environment clean and sustain the standards.
Head of different ministries and departments in the Embu county government, religious leaders, heads of institutions, business community, members of public, media council and different groups were present in the clean up exercise.
" This morning together with the deputy governor, heads of different ministries and departments in the Embu county government, political and religious leaders, heads of institutions, the business community, members of the public, media council and different groups led a clean up exercise in Embu Town" added governor Mbarire.
" The exercise will be carried out across the county as we evaluate on best ways to keep our environment clean and sustain the standards" added governor Mbarire.
Leaders present included; Embu deputy governor, Senator Mundigi, Women representative Double Pamela, Mbeere North legislator Ruku, Mbeti South MCA Kiura, Evurori MCA Mbui among other leaders.
