Plane Crash

David Rudisha Hospitalised, Reason Revealed

On December 10, the world record holder in the 800 meters, David Lekuta Rudisha, was injured in an aircraft crash and taken to the hospital.

Official from Athletics Kenya Barnaba Korir confirmed the occurrence, saying that the small plane crashed-landed near the Imbirikana district of Amboseli.

The Olympic champion was being treated at a hospital in Makindu for his injuries, according to Korir. He explained that the tiny plane, which was headed for Nairobi, crash-landed shortly after taking off from the Kimana Wildlife Sanctuary.

Medical care was also being given to every other passenger on the aircraft, including Kenya Defence Forces athletics chairman Stephen Ole Marai.

At the time this story was published, the cause of the disaster had not yet been determined, although early reports suggested that the aircraft, which had the flight number FY-BGJ registered to it, had technical failure.

At the 2022 Annual Masai Olympics competition at the Kimana Wildlife Sanctuary in Kajiado South, Rudisha served as the chief guest. This event involves light aircraft for the second time in a week.

A man and his kid perished on Thursday, December 8 when the plane they were in crashed at the Tsavo East National Park.
