Several days ago, Kenyans were treated to a piece of shocking news after it emerged that 11 kenyans had been killed by some rogue bandits in the Rift valley.
Among those killed were 8 Police officers who were patrolling the area.
The National Police Service joined families and friends of three police officers who were among eight officers who lost their lives during a cowardly attack on their patrol vehicle in Riet, Turkana County.
The late Constable Boniface Muthini Mutiso and the late Constable Benson Macharia Njira were both laid to rest at their respective homes in Kirinyaga County while the late PC Eric Kipchirchir Rugut was interred at their home in Uasin Gishu County.
Until their demise, the three officers served diligently under the General Service Unit with honour and pride. The NPS is indeed grateful for their service and regrets their untimely demise which is not only a loss to the National Police Service and their loved ones, but also to the country.
We wish their families, friends and relatives strength in this difficult period. May their souls rest in eternal peace.
