National Police Refute Claims Of Road Blockage Countrywide

The national police service has issued a statement to all media platforms in regards to clarify that there is no road blockage on Thiks superhighway or anywhere else in the country.

News had been trending on social media platforms about the demonstrations that were happening in the country.

National police service further urged members of the public to ignore the photos that were being circulated terming it as photoshop pictures that were being used to peddle misinformation and continue with their travel plans.

The national policehas assured members of the public that they will maintain peace and order to enable all law abiding road users retain their right to use the roads from any obstructions.

The statement comes hours after matatu owners association chairperson Simon Kimutai had asked operators to continue with work, adding that there were no planned strike over fuel price hike.

Matatu owners association chairman Simon Kimutai, however said that saccos are at liberty to increase fares due to increase in fuel pump and accused the government of neglecting the suffering of its people.
