A family in Imbaya village, Ugunja Siaya County is crying out for justice after their kin was killed by an angry mob for failing to return a wheelbarrow he had borrowed from their neighbor.
A group of people attacked Mason Gabriel Wekele aged 44 demanding that he told them where he had taken the wheelbarrow. The neighbour alleged that he had sold it.
They then went with him looking for the wheelbarrow and when he failed to produce it, they continued attacking him.
A well wisher who found him unconcious informed his family. His brother Omondi rushed him to hospital but sadly, it was too late.
The family has accused police of failing to arrest the perpetrators even when there is video evidence showing their faces. They want the suspects arrested and arraigned in court so that justice can be served.
A postmoterm revealed that Wekele died from excessive bleeding after being injured by a sharp object.
