Police in Bomet county has arrested two suspects after they locked up a 16-year-old schoolgirl and allegedly defiled her.
Reportedly they caught the eyes of the locals who called the area Assistant Chief who ambushed the lodging.
However, the men refused to open the door forcing the police to intervene and ask them to surrender. The two were later arrested and taken to the police station waiting to be arraigned in court to face defilement charges. Having an s3xual relationship with a minor is called defilement. In Kenya, it's against the law and one might end up getting a maximum of 14 years imprisonment. It has led to earlier pregnancy among teenage girls some being forced to drop out of school. If you notice any adult taking advantage of a minor please report to the nearest police station.
