'Shock as Man Brutally Murders Sister-in-law Over Claims That She Sent His Wife Away 2 Months Ago.

A man in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County allegedly killed his sister-in-law over claims that she sent his wife away two months ago.

Neigbours of the victim, Rose Atieno, said that the suspect attacked her with a panga inside her house in Koriw village.

Residents who were filled with grief and shock said the victim was preparing lunch when the suspect attacked her.

At the time of the unfortunate incident, the deceased's husband had gone to his workplace.

Reports indicate that the suspect inflicted deep cuts on her neck, chopped off her left palm killing her on the spot.

Residents heard the victim's cries and rushed to the scene but it was too late.

Neigbours who were baying for man's blood stormed his home and set his house on fire.

It is alleged the man had threatened to kill Ms Atieno if she did not reveal the whereabouts of his wife.

A manhunt for the suspect who disappeared immediately after committing the act, has been launched.

Residents accused police of sleeping on their jobs but asked them to bring the suspect to book.

Police and local authorities decried rising cases of murder in the area.
