Awendo sub county residents woke up to another complicated incidents of accidents where three different cane hauling tractors fell down at different church sites which lie along Awendo-Oyani tarmac road.
The incidents occurred on Sunday at around eleven am and four pm when the first tractor carrying cane from Keiyan farm fell next to Nyabera CCA church. After five minutes, another tractor from the same place fell next to Marienga Anglican Church, just three hundred metres away from the first incident. Things did not stop there. An hour later, another tractor carrying cane from Gombe site fell down next to Marienga Roho church, just one hundred metres away from the second scene.
The first tractor of cane blocked the road so that all vehicles, motorcycles and even bicycles from Awendo or Oyani could not pass. This jam angered the motorist who ended up beating the tractor drivers who were already badly injured. The cause of these three accidents has since not been established as there was no vehicle, human or animal involved. The mystery that was there is that the three tractors fell next to a given church.
This ugly incidents involving cane hauling units and motorist along the tarmac roads is the second one after another grisly accident occurred at Get site, between Awendo and Ranen ,which claimed over seven lives. The three drivers are recuperating in hospitals.
Gravely, all road users around Awendo town are in great fear.
