Faith Ondisa, a city househelp, will spend time in jail after she stole Sh462,615 ($4, 000) from her employer. She then sent all the money to her con 'pastor' who it is claimed brainwashed her.
The woman pleaded guilty to the charges and said she stole the money from Mary Mwatika on March 22 in the Lavington area in Nairobi. Ondisa further added that she didn't spend even a coin from the theft.
According to a police report presented in court, Ms Mwatika went to her house in Lavington at 7 pm and didn't find her nanny. Upon asking security, she was told that Ondisa was seen carrying a suitcase claiming that she was going to repair it.
It was then that she rushed to check her wardrobe where her fears were confirmed, her money was gone. Her nanny was later traced to Donholm's estate before she was arrested.
Resident Magistrate William Tulel of Kibera law courts sentenced the lady to two years in prison or pay the cash to her ex-employer.
