On Tuesday night, a fire broke out inside their father's home in Kangundo, Machakos County, killing three children over a rumored property dispute.
Neighbors say that the father and one of his two wives have been fighting and that he has been trying to force her to leave the house.
Last Saturday, the family reportedly got together and handed the lady her notice to vacate the premises. The wife said that her husband hired thugs to forcibly remove her from the property and threatened to damage her home if she did not leave.
Three of the man's properties, including the one where the children less than 10 were sleeping, were purportedly set on fire by unknown persons.
The event has been confirmed by Kangundo OCPD Zacharia Bitok, who added that investigations are now ongoing and that the remains of the three victims have been sent to the hospital's morgue.
Bitok added on Wednesday morning, "We are still to identify the culprits of this crime but we have discovered that the family was engaged in a land feud thus we are investigating that."
