Residents in Rurare village in Kanduyi, Bungoma county have been treated to a rare spectacular drama after a middle-aged man stabbed his girfriend to death before killing himself after he allegedly conned him Kshs50, 000 yet she had plans of marrying another man.
The middle-aged man identified as Evans Wanjala reportedly stormed Juliet Makokha's home and stabbed her several times in the stomach for allegedly pocketing his money yet she was in a relationship with another man.
Following the incident, the woman was rushed to Bungoma County Referral Hospital where she was admitted in critical condition but later passed on due to sustained severe injuries.
Wanjala is however said to have run away and hunged himself using a manilla rope behind the house upon coming into his realization of whatever he had done.
Details emerged that the two have been in a romantic relationship for barely nine months and of late Wanjala have been in depression but failed to reveal to the family on whatever was wrong with him.
The police processed the area of incident before Wanjala's body was taken to Bungoma County Hospital.
The incident was confirmed by Bungoma South Police Commander Benjamin Kimwele.
