Residents in Chepkogen village in Bomet county are still shell shocked after a mother plunged his two sons of ages 6 years and 4 years respectively in a borehole and left them to die only for good Samaritans to rescue the two minors.
The mother who has been identified as Sharon Chebet forced the two boys inside the forty-meter well and left them to drown with the boy's distress screams alerting neighbors who rushed to the scene and lend a helping hand.
Luckily, they managed to rescue the boys and rushed them to Lokosinga Referral Hospital but only the six-year-old boy survived the ordeal as his brother was overwhelmed and succumbed while at the health facility.
"A 6-year-old boy was rescued from the brink of death by good samaritans, after his mother plunged him and his brother, 4, inside a water well today morning at 10 am." DCI Tweeted.
Their twenty-two-year-old mother has seen been arrested by the police who will seek to establish what prompted her to committing such a heinous act on her own children.
