Good News To Kenyan Police Officers As Their Wives Form A Game Changing National Association

Cases of police officers committing suicide or murder as a result of stress and depression emanating from their line of duty have been escalating in recent months and this has prompted a reaction from their spouses.

Wives to the police officers have joined hands and formulated a national association that will be aimed at improving the living standards of the men in uniform across the country.

The Chairperson of the National Police Wives Association has confirmed that the association will seek to help police officers cope with the challenges they encounter in their line of duty but will equally address the mental health challenges through the provision of basic necessities in the homesteads of police officers.

"The reason why we started this group is to deal with stress that officers are facing in the line of duty and the houses. Every time officers are facing stress, they harm themselves. We have formed NAWOPA and we will be having a merry-go-round table banking to ensure that there is food in the houses of our officers,” Nikol stated.

This move is also believed to be a long-term cure to the domestic disputes many families with police officers face and widows who have lost their husbands in the line of duty will also be included.
