An inmate caused panic in Bomet County when he escaped from a toilet while doing his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Exams at St. Micheal's High School. The robbery with violence criminal escaped after scaling a toilet roof and jumped over a fence and escaping to Chebirir shopping center while the warder was unaware.
According to K24 digital news platform, Vincent Kirui who was serving a seven year sentence led to a massive search as a security team had to be deployed in order to search for the fugitive. The inmate is said to have requested to use a toilet at the school which is located close to the fence wheer he scaled to the roof before jumping over to an adjacent road.
The security team launched a manhunt which led them to a house that he had locked himself in. The occupants of the house were forced to run for their lives after he buldged in the house and hid in a bedroom after sensing he the security forces were almost catching up. He will arraigned in court for escaping lawful custody.
