Fire broke out at the Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation on July 11, 2022. A source privy to the fire incident told the press that the fire broke out on Monday morning few minutes before 6am.
A video clip in possession of Kenyans.co.ke shows how the fire consumed a building attached to the main block housing its broadcasting studios.
Fortunately, the fire incident was immediately contained by the police with the help of G4S after firefighters based at the Nairobi County Government failed to arrive claiming that they didn't have a fire engine on standby.
Sources inside KBC TV confirmed the incident saying that all the staffs that were in duty were immediately evacuated and taken to safe location and everyone is not safe. The cause of the morning fire is yet to be established but it has now been contained. The level of distraction that was caused by the fire is still not clear but investigations have been started.
The incident comes at a time when fire incidents are being witnessed. Late last night, a fire incident was reported at Soko Mjinga market in Wajir where property of unknown value was reduced to ashes. The fire acted as a wake up call for the county government of Wajir to be prepared on such incidents since they didn't arrive on time.
