Bomet: Divers retrieve a Student's Body From the River Bed

The body of a Bomet University student by the name Tyrus Mutalii ( a second year )who drowned at Chebaraa Falls in Chepalungu sub- county has been retrieved by a group divers after searching for three days.

According to the reports the deceased slipped and fell into the raging waters while taking selfies with friends at around 5pm on Sunday evening.

The senior disaster management officer in the county, Mr Stanley Mutai has said that it was not an easy task retreaving the body due to the current large volumes of water in the river due to high rainfall that is currently being experienced in the area.

The body was taken to Longisa county referal hospital mortuary for preservation.

The falls is normally a tourist destination especially for local tourists. During the weekends a large number or people normally visits the falls to enjoy the atyractive scene of the area.
