An old man identified as Leonard Kamosin has gained fame in West Pokot after he successfully managed to rescue bodies of three people who had drowned in a water well.

However, the worst happened after the rescue team arriving at the scene of the incident but their efforts to retrieve the three bodies from the deep well bore no fruits.

The old man, Leonard Kamosin has gain popularity after he managed to enter into the well and was able to retrieve the bodies. Leonard says that he has not been trained in the job but revealed that he has little experience in the same. The rescue team was shocked after Leonard Kamosin managed to rescue all the three bodies from the depth of a water well. The old man revealed that he did his best in retrieving the bodies.

On Friday last week, two primary school pupils drowned in the borehole while fetching water which they intended to use in cleaning their classrooms. The first pupil fell into the well and his colleague tried to rescue him but also fell into the hole. The man who also died in the well had also tried to rescue the two primary school kids but unfortunately drowned in the process.

The villagers have praised Leonard Kamosin and have said that he has become a hero in the village after risking his life and successfully managed to rescue bodies from the borehole. This was a great achievement since the rescue team had already failed in their job despite being trained.

"This old man is a hero to us and our community." Patricia Chenangat, a neighbor to Leonard Kamosin praised the man for the achievement.
