Daylight Drama As Bishop Margaret Wanjiru Son Arrested, Taken To Unknown Police Station

Former Mathare MP Steven Kariuki is said to have led a team of goons to demolish houses belonging to residents over a land dispute involving the Bishop. The locals who had their property destroyed in the melee informed police officers who arrived at the scene and arrested Steven Kariuki and a few of the goons comprising of young men. There was drama in Kangemi Constituency earlier in the day leading to the arrest of Bishop Margaret Wanjiru's son to be arrested and taken to an unknown police station over fears for his security.

According to Tuko.co.ke digital news platform, the incident which sparked fury from residents in the area who decided to call police from Kangemi Police Station to effect the arrest.

Also caught up in the demolition saga was Muthangari Pentecostal Church of God which also is contesting the ownership of the land against Bishop Margaret Wanjiru. The police commander refuted claims that the former MP and her mother issued them with a notice to evict the residents, reason why they arrested Kariuki.
