Finally, a notorious city thug who terrorized inhabitants of important estates in Nairobi, particularly Huruma and Kariobangi, has been apprehended.
According to a statement released by the National Police Service (NPS) on Sunday morning the culprit whose real name is Dickson Gatonga Njeri was apprehended in Nairobi city near the Outer Ring road.
Special investigators from the Multi-agency squad made the arrest after learning the whereabouts of the alleged mugger via intelligence sources. Gatonga was described by a large number of locals as a serial offender who has subsequently been involved in robbing unwitting victims.
According to police sources a search in the area turned up a kitchen knife that was reportedly used in multiple attacks in the city.
Gatonga was then transported to the cell where he would later be arraigned. As the mission to eradicate insecurity in the crime-ridden neighborhoods continues, the police department praised the general people for aiding the detectives in catching criminals.
