On Monday evening,Kangemi flyover under construction collapsed as reports indicate four people are trapped inside and several others injured.
The flyover under construction collapsed while the works was going on.The cause of the incident hasn't been well established.Rescue operation is going on.
This comes barely a few hours after a four-storey building collapsed in Kamukunji near police lane.
The top floors of the building which are reported to have been recently added to an old construction caved in but no fatalities were reported.
According to the National Construction Authority,the cause of collapsing buildings in Nairobi exist without approval.Other causes of structures collapsing according to the NCA said the use of substandard materials, non-compliance to building standards and regulations, inadequate structural design and overloading, and inadequate maintenance of structures.
