Residents of Majengo estate in Kilgoris have been left in dismay after a couple killed their 8-year old daughter during a domestic fight.
Amos Maengwe, a 30-year old man and his wife Esther Kaiseyi who is 21 years had a small fight over food when the incident occurred. Amos then wanted to hit the wife with a wooden object which missed and instead hit their class 1 daughter on the head and who fell on the ground unconsciously.
The police report say that the couple immediately rushed the girl to Kilgoris sub-county hospital for treatment but unfortunately the girl lost her life.
“Upon reaching the facility, doctors tried to attend to the girl whose condition had worsened, but unfortunately she lost her life while undergoing treatment,” read the police report.
A neighbor who requested her identity to be concealed said that the couple have been giving them headaches for their frequent noise and drama especially during the night. She further added that efforts had been made solve their wrangles but didn't bear any fruit.
The two are being held at the Kilgoris Police Station awaiting arraigned in court once investigations are over.
