Garissa County Governor Ali Bunow Korane has angrily delivered a powerful message to Kenya's security agencies over threats linked to abductions of young girls which have since been witnessed.
Bunow, who echoed voices of a group of women condemned the act where perpetrators demand ransom from the abducted victims' families for their release.
"Kidnapping of young girls to demand for ransom and their subsequent brutal murders is raising fear and traumatizing communities," stated Governor Korane.
In his message, Garissa Governor urged the security agencies to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and brutal murders and to reassure families of their children's safety.
"I call upon the security agencies to swiftly apprehend perpetrators and non this trend in the bud and reassure families of their children's lives and safety," said Korane.
Governor Korane's sentiments came hours after community women addressed a presser calling upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to intervene.
