A police officer is being investigated after a rifle containing a fully loaded magazine was allegedly forcefully stolen by a suspect. The incident which happened earlier in the evening led to a serious manhunt for the rifle after the suspect forcefully fought the officer before disappearing into the darkness.
According to Digitalcops.co.ke media platform, Police Constable Fred Ambani reported to Ganganga Shopping center on normal patrol duties when he found a suspect defying the Covid-19 health regulations on wearing protective masks. Moments later, he was attacked by the suspect who was in handcuffs and later disposed his official gun after being pinned on the ground
The police have launched a search for the weapon over fears that it could be used to commit crimes. Confirming the incident, the sub-county police commander Moses Kirong warned the public from engaging police in violent confrontations and urged any person with information on the weapon to give the information.
