2 Cops manning Mwiki-Njiru Roadblock Arrested For Allegedly Extorting Shs1000 From A Curfew Violator

Two cops manning the Mwiki-Njiru road block arrested by DCI detectives for allegedly extorting Shs1000 from a curfew violator, Nairobi County.

Nairobi County Police Commander James Nyamawi who confirmed the incident said the duo were filmed in a CCTV camera committing the act which is against the provisions of the National Police Service Act.

According to Nyamawi, the two were manning Mwiki-Njiru roadblock before stopping the victim, drew his brother who was also a passenger in the vehicle out and extort Kshs1000 from for allegedly breaching curfew time.

Nyamawi said the victim was heading home after along meeting in Runda estate, Nairobi County according to the DCI reports.

The two officers were identified as Jecton Okach, 45,Andrew Davies, 56.

The two are attached to a unspecified police station in Mwiki Town.

They are currently held at Muthaiga police station undergoing interrogations and further investigations.

The latest report comes only a day after two officers were charged for allegedly extorting Kshs10000 from motorists.
