With five people dead in Marakwet the government has been alarted by the alarming increase of incidences of killings. Though the motive of the killers is yet to be established, residents are citing lack of police in the region as the possible reason why the gunmen feel comfortable walking with their weapon at day time. This has attracted politicians and government officials attention. Matiang'i and senator Murkomen has spoken and hope is soon going to shine to the people of the expansive Marakwet region.
Matiang'i who was first to highlight the situation has promised the people of immediate intervention. Matiang'i was speaking partaining the ongoing conflict between Kenya and Uganda diplomatic agreements where Uganda is stated to be holding Kenyan trucks and which were transporting dried fish to Rwanda. He highlighted the government commitment to protect it's people and that before things escalate change will be witnesed.
