Police in Busia county are detaining a girl and her father after being arrested by an angry mob when they were found to have dumped a newborn born baby in the pit latrine.
The two are believed to have worked together in committing the bad act of animosity at their home in Asing village in Teso South.
The girl who is a second year student at KMTC in Bungoma was arrested with his father, a retired teacher from the local school.
The good news however is that the baby has been saved by from the pit by the well wishers and was taken to Lukolis dispensary after being referred to Busia hospital for further treatment.
According to the area chief of Asinge location, the kid was covered with banana leaves and was full of burnings that resulted of toilet wastes.
The incident has raised more questions than answers on whose the dad of the child is and why did they worked together to dispose the child.
