Skillful driver veered off the road to avoid head on collision with a fast coming vehicle, landing safely on the ground. The driver who never wanted a head on collision managed to evade the wrath of the collision.
In the accident that occurred wee hours, 40 passengers have suffered various degrees of injuries. The accident saw the bus landing in a ditch in Kapkwen Trading Centre, Bomet County.
The Classic bus was heading from Nairobi to Kisii where it got involved in that road accident. Eight of the injured passengers were rushed to Tenwek Hospital while the remaining thirty two were discharged immediately. Its the first time an accident of such intensity occurs without any death reports. According to Bomet County police commander, the bus swerved to avoid head on collision.
“The bus is said to have swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a motor vehicle that was travelling towards Bomet from Kaplong when the accident occurred. The bus overturned and landed on its side,” Mr Imamai said.
“Some of the [passengers] had cuts from broken glass, while others had bruises in various parts of the body. A few others are still undergoing observation, but I think they will be discharged in due course,” a doctor who did not want to be named said.
During the incident, the residents swung into action, helping out the passengers who were still blocked in the damaged wreckage.
