Man Lynched by Mob in Makueni After Killing her Wife in front of their Daughters

April 18, 2021 Sunday morning turned out to be horrific for the residents of Mangani Village, Mbooni East in Makueni County after 70 years old man was lynched to death by an angry mob after he hacked to death his wife.

It is said that the old man whose name has been withheld was not around however when he came back home he took a machete and headed straight to his bedroom where he cut his wife several times killing her and even mutilating her body.

This bizarre incident is said to have occurred at around 9.30am in the morning. The area Chief Mr. Daniel Mutinda who spoke to the Royal Media journalists stated that the suspect did not get enough time to escape after committing this heinous act because he was surrounded by the people who got alarmed.

According Chief Mutinda, the suspect is said to have killed his wife right before the eyes of their daughters who would later scream thereby alarming the neighbors.

“This morning at place called Mangani there was an incident in which one man hacked to death his wife. What has now surprised us is that he did this right before his daughters who were watching in horror and screaming. After doing this, people surrounded him, overpowered him and then killed him. As we speak, they have burned his body to ashes,” said Chief Mutinda.

It is said that such kind of homicide cases have now been on the rise in Mbooni East in the recent times. Chief Mutinda further told the reporters that in the last one month more than five people have been killed in a similar manner in Mbooni East.

He regrets that perhaps most of these cases are being brought about by domestic conflicts. Just what is going on in the recent times in families? Could it be the increase in depression? Well, there are always many sides to such kind of incidents.
