Meet Corporal Nekesa, a Poet, Driver and Footballer Who Has Excelled In The National Police Service

Corporal Purity Nekesa Muraya is one of the multi-talented corporals in Kenya who have made a name for themselves in the National Police Service. According to a feature by the NPS, she is a poet, a footballer, a driver, a mother and a wife who has excelled in the NPS.

At the time when the Kenya's football team for women, popularly known as Harambee Starlets was winning trophies and warming the hearts of Kenyans for their spectacular sporting triumphs, Corporal Nekesa was one of the key stars who made the team to shine.

As of now, she has represented the country internationally in other nations such as Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Burundi. Additionally, she has served in the Malindi Divisional Headquarters, Tourist Police Unit, and the National Police Headquarters.

She has also made a name for herself for reciting poems at weddings, birthday parties, children homes and corporate events. She has beaten all odds to become the first female poet in the National Police Service. She is a wife to Corporal Christopher Muraya Macharia.

On her education status, she holds a diploma in Counseling Psychology and Community Development from Zetech University. She is an alumni of Wiyeta Girls High School and Kipsaina Primary School all located in TransNzoia County.

Those top institutions are the ones that natured him to have virtue of hard work, discipline, respect, humility and empathy which were natured and instilled in her.
