An infamous urban gangster who terrorized residents of important estates in Nairobi city, particularly Huruma and Kariobangi, has finally been apprehended.

The criminal, whose name has been given as Dickson Gatonga Njeri, was apprehended in Nairobi city near the Outer Ring road, according to a statement released by the National Police Service (NPS) on Sunday morning.
After receiving intelligence regarding the whereabouts of the alleged mugger, special detectives from the Multi-agency squad made the arrest. Many locals in the area described Gatonga as a serial offender who has since been involved in robbing unwitting victims.

According to police reports, after a search was conducted in the home he was residing in, a kitchen knife allegedly used in a number of attacks in the city was found.

After that, Gatonga was escorted to the jail where he would later be charged. As part of its ongoing effort to eradicate insecurity in the areas where crime is on the rise, the police department commended the public for assisting the investigators catch criminals.
