Johnson Sakaja the mayor of Nairobi has recently issued new directives and restrictions for matatu from the Rift valley and western Kenya in an effort to relieve congestion in the city.
Sources claim that beginning on December 1 2022, Matatus Saccos operating the Western Nyanza and Rift Valley routes will pick up and drop off passengers at the Green Park Terminus.
On Friday November 18 2022 at Charter Hall the county government led by governor Johnson Sakaja met with Saccos and other transportation stakeholders and came to a resolution.
The new regulations, which were approved and signed by Jairus Musumba the acting Nairobi county secretary were released by the county government on November 28.
