A number of businessmen and women in Nyeri County have this morning woken up to a sad day at their businesses.
Sunday morning fire in Kieni Constituency, Nyeri County has razed property worth millions of shillings.
The fire broke out at Kiawara spreading to different shops and stalls along the business area in Kieni razing property.
Efforts by residents to put of the fire which kept on spreading too fast proved futile as it spread to other shops and structures nearby fast.
Residents have blamed the damage caused by the fire on lack of quick response by the County Government's fire response team which arrived to the scene late.
Residents have pleaded with the county government to support them during such difficult moments that the businesses at Kiawara are counting losses from the fire.
Further, residents have asked the county government to quicken their response to such emergency incidents such as fire to avoid much losses.
