Father Beats 3-year-old Son to Death for Eating Fish Before Lunch Hour

A 29-year-old man has presented himself to the police at Port Victoria for reportedly killing his three-year-old son for eating fish before lunch time.

Victor Bwire Maalo surrendered himself to the police after beating his son Fredrick Onyango leading to his death on Sunday evening.

Confirming the incident, the area village elder Stephen Somi said that Bwire did not have a cordial relationship with his family.

Faustine Awino, step mother to the deceased said that her husband committed the crime while she had gone to wash clothes one kilometer away from home.

“When I came back at around 11.00am, I found Onyango asleep,” she was quoted by KNA, adding that the boy informed her how he was beaten by the father.

Awino further said that she woke up the boy for lunch but he immediately went back to sleep after eating.

“Later in the evening, I tried to wake him up only to find that he was already dead,” she said.

Fredrick Maalo, 57, the grandfather to the deceased, however blamed the National Government Administration Officers for the unfortunate incident.

“On several occasions, I have reported to them how violent my son has been, not only to his wife and son but also myself,” he said, adding that the suspect was also a big problem to him.

The body of the deceased was moved to Port Victoria hospital mortuary as police officers continue with their investigations.
