Detectives, in Kimathi Estate, Nyeri County are still in shock after a young police officer shot himself dead under some unclear circumstances.
According to sources, the CIPU officer was found dead with a bullet wound on his head im what detectives believe was a suicide.
Reason as to why the 37-year-old officer committed the heinous act is yet to be established.
More details in regards to the worrying incident are expected soon as the news continues to unfold.
Lately the number of suicides around the country and mainly in the police service has increased to a worrying trend.
A huge number of these incidents have been associated with severe cases of depression amongst cops
Police officers seem to be going through some serious hard times at work with their seniors not giving them ears.
On the other hand, the interior cabinet secretary doctor Fred Matiang'i has urged all police officers to under go a serious mental check up to sieve the mentally challenged in the service.
