Kenya power and lighting company commonly known as Kenya Power is major producer and distributor of electricity in the country. The company has over 7 million customers that depend on power either directly or indirectly. The country is looking forward to reach more than 10 million household and connect them with electricity through Rural Electrification Authority.
Kenya power always inform it's customers incase of power outage in an area due to routine maintenance. The company does that to avoid legal litigation in court of law and also enable it's customers to look for alternative source of power especially those that solely depend on electricity in their daily activities.
As a result, Kenya power has announced a long electricity blackout in the following areas. In Nairobi county Sunton Business center, Sunton police post and adjacent customers will experience blackout between 9.00am to 5p. In Uasin Gishu county, Pauls Bakery,West Indies, Kipkaren estate, pioneer and adjacent customers will experience power outage between 10.00am to 2.00pm.
Other counties that will experience power outage include Homabay county,Kisii county and Kilifi county. Customers in those areas are advised to get alternative source of power to prevent losses that may arise as result of power outage.
