Kenyans are shocked by the news of a police officer who was reported to have killed himself. This comes at a time suicide cases are on the rise. Perhaps this could be due to the hard economic times the country is facing at the moment.
According to reports, the incident was reported by James Kithinji to Kasarani police station in Nairobi. Kithinji is the son of the deceased. The information is OB no 121/08/10/2021. Several police officers rushed to the scene and found the late Sergent Elias Kariuki lying in a supine position beside his bed. Th late cop, aged 52, was a senior DCI officer attached to Parklands. Further reports have it that his son had untied him from the leso he had used to himself on a window grill.
The detective team members secured the scene of the crime, and investigations have been launched to establish the course of his death. May his soul rest in peace.
