Phillip Ochieng, Moi's Speech Writer is Dead

Phillip Ochieng, a veteran writer, journalist and KANU speech writer has been reported to have died at the age of eighty two years old in his rural home, Migori County.

He has been eulogized through his well researched writings. Some describing his writings as penned poetic English. He had written a stinging editorial in KANU's Kenya Times newspaper that railed against ruling elite, and thereafter the linguistically sparklingly pieces in the Sunday Nation. His idea was ever to advise Kenyans to take their positions.

Philip Ochieng will be remembered for his inscrutable mastery of the English language. Many people learned a lot from him and admired his writings.
