Here Is The New Nairobi Police Commander

Adamson Bungei, the Baringo County Police Commander, was designated the new Nairobi Police Chief on Monday after major changes to the service were revealed by Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome.

A week after being nominated to succeed James Mugera, who has now retired from the service, Bungei replaces Manasse Musyoka, who had yet to assume the role.

Before being transferred to Baringo two years ago, Bungei served as the OCPD for Buruburu and Central.

Munga Nyale was also transferred by Koome to Kenya Police Headquarters and given the title of director of police reforms. Abdallah Komesha, who was recently appointed head of people at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters, has been chosen as the new chief deputy to the IG, succeeding Nyale.

Former director of personnel for the National Police Service, Boniface Maingi is currently in charge of operations. Rashid Yakub, who was appointed to lead the Community Policing wing as the director, will be replaced by him.

The Child Protection Unit Director at Vigilance House, Judy Lamet, was elevated to the position of Deputy Director of Police Operations.

At Vigilance House, the police department's main building, Jacinta Muthoni has been appointed director of personnel. The changes are Koome's most recent.
