In 2019, two innocent people died after a vehicle they were traveling in crashed into the ocean. The two souls, Mariam Kigheda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu, drowned after their car slid into the Indian ocean.
Kenyan port authorities have finally concluded their investigation into the shocking deaths, which have left many across the country in shock, sources say.
It turns out that a bad prow was the main cause of the freak accident and the Kenyan government is to blame for not fixing it in time.
The prow is the projecting part of a ferryboat, located at both ends. Its main function is the buoyancy of the ship and the loading of vehicles and passengers.
Since then, many have pointed the finger at port authorities for failing to maintain and occasionally repair ships to prevent such horrific events.
However, the government invested in a new bridge in this area which was intended to reduce ferry traffic and overload.
