Former police boss Charlton Murithi is dead. The sad news were announced by Star Kenya on Facebook.
Muriithi was battling cancer for some time and was flown to South Africa for specialized treatment 3 months ago.
His family revealed that he died today at 3 am.
Muriithi was serving as Kenya National Focal Point on Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons boss. He will be remembered for his endless efforts against illicit arms. In 2021, asked Kenyans living along porous borders to volunteer information of holders of illicit arms which he has said fuels urban crime.
He was speaking at Osorongai village in Cherangany Sub County during the burial of the late William Sing’oei who was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Joint Operations Centre.
He was previously serving as the North Eastern Police boss until he was reshuffled in 2015 for redeployment.
May he rest in peace and our sincere condolences to his family members and friends as they mourn the loss.
