Several Left Homeless After Saturday Morning Fire

Hundreds of people have this morning been left homeless after a huge fire razed down their structures at Kongo residentials, Kawangware area in Nairobi county.

According to the residents who spoke to the journalist, the fire which broke out few hours past midnight, from one of the affected houses before spreading very fast to other neighboring houses.

St. John Ambulance Kenya paramedics officers rushed to the scene to rescue those affected the early morning accident after getting a call from the helpless residents.

According to the police report no life was lost during the incident. However, fingers have been pointed at the Nairobi city disaster management for their poor response to deadly accidents like fire.

The public has been urged to keep calm as investigation into the matter has been launched by the police who are at the scene to establish the cause of the fire. It is reported that detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigation have been also sent to the area to aid in the investigation.
